Princess Siege

A light-fantasy roguelike deckbuilder where every battle is a siege. Lead the Champion's army across seven rival realms, one princess at a time.

You’ve been summoned to Ironhold and named the princess’s Champion, with a power no one else in the world has: control over the Deck. Raise armies, build siege engines and break the walls of seven rival realms, one settlement at a time. Just don’t take everything you’re told at face value.

At a glance

  • Genre: roguelike deckbuilder with tug-of-war siege battles
  • Setting: light fantasy with a darker story underneath
  • Engine: Godot
  • Status: in development, with a full run playable through the first realm
  • Platforms and release: to be announced

Every battle is a siege

You and the defending settlement each build a board across three rows: melee, ranged and siege. At the end of every turn, total Power is compared, and the stronger side deals the difference as damage. Your overflow batters down the town’s Siege bar, and theirs grinds down your Army Morale.

The same units that threaten the walls also keep your army standing, so every card does double duty. Dig in with a Shield Wall, or roll out the Iron Trebuchet and gamble on breaking the gate first?

Six cards: the human army's knight, trebuchet and shield wall alongside elven defenders: a treant, a hawk rider and a hooded ranger

There’s no mana. What you can do each turn is limited only by your hand, so a lean, focused deck wins sieges.

Seven realms, seven princesses

Each realm plays by its own rules and ends at a Stronghold where its princess makes her stand. Win, and she joins your side, along with her cards.

The seven realms: the elven Verdant Grove above, then the Tidal Wave, the Deepforge Mine, the Ember Mountains, Mire Hold, the Winter Court and the Sunscorch Bazaar
Realm Who lives there How they fight
The Verdant Grove Elves Archers, beasts and a forest that grows back (playable now)
The Tidal Wave Mermaids Flooding terrain, tempo and repositioning
The Deepforge Mine Dwarves Fortifications, engineering and unbreakable defence
The Ember Mountains Dragonkin Fire, sacrifice and escalating destruction
Mire Hold Orcs Swamp brawls and units that grow from every fight
The Winter Court Frost Freezing and stalling the battlefield
The Sunscorch Bazaar Imps Cursed gold, mirages and risky bargains
A fortified elven city built into a giant tree at night under a full moon

The cast

The Iron Princess in blue and silver armour, Aldric the laughing old mage, and Princess Sylvaine of the elves
  • The Iron Princess, who summoned you and sends you to war. Very convincing.
  • Aldric, her court mage. Forgetful, rambling, and possibly much more than he seems.
  • Sylvaine, princess of the Verdant Grove and the first ruler standing in your way.

The loop

When a run ends, win or lose, you wake up again in the Champion’s Chamber. Only a couple of people in the castle seem to notice that time keeps resetting. Each run you’ll get stronger, learn more, and get a little closer to what’s really going on.

A grand stone hall with torches and a blue crown banner, looking out through an archway at a distant castle

What’s in so far

  • A full run: the Champion’s Chamber hub, the continent, a generated realm map, and a Stronghold boss
  • Sieges, shops, army camps, relic altars and 30 story events along the way
  • 46 human cards, 46 elf cards and 26 relics
  • Story scenes, run saves and a Collection book
